Improve Player Availability.

Two athletes train the same and recover differently. That difference does not sit in the load, but in the adaptive capacity underneath it. That capacity can be read, and it can grow.

One story, three levels

Perform. Compete. Grow.

Every stakeholder recognises themselves in one of three levels — and at each level, someone wins. The three names are one pair: what we promise, and what it delivers.

Perform

Targeted development

The player wins. The right stimulus, for the right athlete, at the right moment.

Compete

Sustainable availability

The team wins. More players fit, more often, when it matters most.

Grow

Protected value

The club wins. Optimal readiness, despite an intense fixture schedule and heavy travel, resulting in a sustainable career.

What this means for you

If you are the athlete

  • You know which nutrition, supplementation and routines truly move your body forward
  • You stop guessing and make data-driven choices that fit your unique biology
  • You discover which small adjustments make the biggest difference for your performance
  • You get concrete tools to recover better and perform stronger, for a sustainable career

If you support the athlete

  • Understand why two athletes respond differently to the same training stimulus
  • Make return-to-performance decisions with more confidence and objective insight
  • Add a biological layer to your existing readiness and decision models, so every call is better substantiated

If you run the club

  • Protect your biggest investment: your players' availability
  • Make strategic decisions based on more than performance data alone
  • Integrate a biological layer into your existing systems, while all data ownership stays with the club

Why CosmoPulse

One KPI influences every other KPI: Player Availability.

Every unavailable player affects training quality, tactical flexibility and competitive performance. CosmoPulse helps clubs improve Player Availability by supporting well-founded decisions on training load, recovery, nutrition and personalised/individual guidance.

Improve Player Availability

Well-founded decisions on load, recovery and nutrition help keep players fit across congestion and travel.

Grow into your full potential

Every player responds differently to the same load. Understand your own biology and personalise your approach to perform better today and build a sustainable career.

Strengthen your High-Performance Environment

Personalised insights strengthen the existing performance set-up and support better decisions on load management, recovery and individual guidance — from academy to first team.

Protect Talent. Increase Value.

Develop professionals who understand their own performance and build habits that support consistent availability, stronger results and greater long-term value.

Availability is not luck. It is built on the days in between.

What the tools read

Same athlete. Other conditions. A different answer.

An afternoon kick-off is not an evening one. A travel day loads the body differently than a standard training day. A run of matches calls for a different approach than matches with proper recovery in between. The athlete is the same, but the conditions change. That is adaptive capacity, the body's ability to adjust to every context. CosmoPulse makes that underlying biological layer visible, enriches the data you already use, and supports a data-driven approach that explains why the same load does not land the same way on every athlete.

Because CosmoPulse reads your data streams together, from one validated baseline, your staff gets substantiated tools for well-considered decisions, tuned to how each athlete adapts.

Torque

The targeted action

The specific move that fits this athlete, under these conditions, now.

Pomodoro

The window

When it lands — the moment that makes the action work. No fixed duration; the window is set by the day.

Read from a validated baseline and every data stream around it, adaptive capacity gives staff substantiated tools — not a gut feeling. Managed day after day, that is what keeps players available across a season.

The shift

The problem is no longer too little data.

GPS, wearables, force plates, bloods and video have given elite sport an extraordinary amount of information. The next step is not more data — it is connecting it biologically, so signals that used to sit side by side become one richer read.

AI helps surface patterns faster. It is the accelerator, not the brain. The judgement stays where it belongs — with your staff, on a Tuesday, before a Wednesday match.

The technology underneath

The technology behind the value.

Player Availability is the value we deliver. Co-metabolism — how each athlete's biology and micro-organisms process load and nutrition — is the technology that makes it possible. It is where twenty years of our own research sits. CosmoPulse stacks what we already know into one decision layer. From the foundation up:

AcceleratorAISurfaces patterns and simulations faster — never the decision-maker.
▲ reads everything below
DecisionOSCAR — decision architectureObserve · Structure · Classify · Act · Refine. Integrates every layer into one read.
Co-metabolismHost × micro-organisms — how you actually process what you eat.
Multi-omicsDNA · microbiome · metabolome, from your baseline measurement.
FoundationDigital performance data + periodisationGPS · wearables · force plates · video, on Tudor Bompa's load–recovery–adaptation base.

The engine that weighs these layers stays ours. You see the read and the action — never the model underneath. What you rely on is the outcome, and that is what we stand behind.

How you read it

Six signals. One line.

CosmoPulse translates the architecture into six readable signals. All six are read every day, but they move on different timescales — from what shifts today to what carries a season. Every signal uses the same action zones, so your whole staff reads them the same way.

CosmoPulse informs readiness and adaptation. It never advises selection, line-ups or substitutions — that stays with the coaching staff. The data serves the athlete; at the moment of execution, it falls silent.

The staff dashboard

Your squad, one screen, every morning.

Performance, medical and sporting staff open one screen. Each athlete on a single line — the signals that move day to day, and today's action word — so every conversation starts from the same picture, and Player Availability is managed a day at a time.

Where it starts

One baseline. Then bring all your data.

The baseline measurement (nulmeting)

Every athlete starts with one full analysis in our own lab — DNA, microbiome and metabolome — the same sampling and the same lab as My InnerSelfie. It maps who this athlete is biologically: how they absorb and process nutrients, their gut picture and tolerance, their sensitivities. This is the fixed layer everything else reads against.

Bring your own data

You do not throw anything away. Existing lab results, GPS and wearable feeds, blood markers, training schedules, sleep and travel — you upload it all, and we read it biologically alongside the baseline. One place, one connected read, instead of ten dashboards side by side.

A personalisation intake then configures the platform to this athlete — sport and position from a list of 117, environment, load, and life beyond the sport.

One baseline. Three ways to take it.

Not every country has a laboratory around the corner, and no squad waits for a courier. The read is the same in all three; what differs is how certain it becomes, and you see that for yourself.

Route 3 · your own data

Bring what you have

Already measured? Then you do not start again.

  • Existing DNA data
  • Existing blood results
  • Existing microbiome data
  • Topped up with digital markers

The kit travels. And where it cannot reach, digital markers do.

And once a season, a retest. A baseline is a starting point, not a verdict. The retest reads the layer that actually moves — the gut picture, the metabolome, the resilience underneath — against your own earlier reading. Your DNA is not measured again; it did not change. What you see is whether the adaptive capacity grew, and where.

Every read carries its own reliability. A score without a reliability is an opinion. That is why each signal shows how certain its read is, based on the sources actually connected. Connect more, and it rises — and you see exactly which source sharpens which signal. CosmoPulse does not predict; it reads what is there, and tells you how sure it is.

Food-First Academy

The supermarket moment — in every player's pocket.

A young player was stuck at the top of the triangle, on strength. His endurance would not follow. The reason was not in training: a lactose intolerance was quietly holding back his recovery.

The fix was not a report. It was walking the supermarket aisles with him and his mother, showing on the shelves what did work and what did not. That worked. And that is exactly the problem — one expert, one shop, one player, one afternoon. It does not exist for two hundred players across three age groups.

So the question is not how to write a sharper report. It is how to put that moment — the right person, at the right shelf, at the right time — in the pocket of every athlete. That is the choice layer.

The design rule, from that aisle: never a no without a yes beside it. Every scan that discourages something shows, in the same breath, the nearest alternative that does work.

From age 13, in every class

Food-first is taught from the youth academy up — playful, professional, and lasting. Each age group gets its own version: less reporting for the youngest, more depth as they grow. An API coupling brings it into the club's own platform, and each player gets a daily nutrition tip that fits their profile and the day ahead.

HostHero — one engine, two modes

Both answer the same question — does this product fit this athlete, today? The only difference is where the product data comes from.

The open scan

In any shop, any country, any product

The athlete points the camera at the barcode. It works in a foreign supermarket during a training camp or a tournament — exactly where the habits fall away and the mistakes get made.

  1. Barcode scanned
  2. Looked up in the product database: ingredients and allergens
  3. Matched to the profile and to today's signals
  4. One word, one sentence, and an alternative

No barcode? A photo of the ingredient list, read as text. Still uncertain? HostHero says so — a guess is worse than no answer.

The closed catalogue

At a club with a fixed food partner

The partner's full range is uploaded in advance and analysed dish by dish. When the chilled container arrives, every player opens their own version of the same menu.

  1. Range uploaded, refreshed once a week
  2. Every dish tested against every player profile
  3. The player sees the menu sorted — what works for him first
  4. One recommended choice at the top for today

A closed universe: no unknown products, and the partner can steer supply to what the squad turns out to need.

What the player sees

Three words — the same ones the club prescription layer already uses, so player and staff never speak in two languages. No scores, no percentages, no lab jargon.

This works for you
Fits your profile and what you need today.
"Good pick today — you have a hard session tomorrow and this is full of slow carbs."
Mind the moment
Fine in itself, but not now — or not in this amount.
"Great after the match, less so in the two hours before. Save it for tonight."
This gets in your way
Clashes with a sensitivity from your baseline. Always with an alternative beside it.
"There's milk sugar in this, and it slows your recovery. Two shelves over is the same yoghurt without."

Never on screen: calories, weight, body composition, day totals, or any judgement about what was already eaten. HostHero answers one product on the athlete's request, then goes quiet. Anyone who wants a full plan gets the dietitian — the app is the wingman, never the replacement.

Why this is not an allergy app

The fixed layer — who you are

From the baseline · changes each quarter

  • Sensitivities: milk sugar, gluten, salt, histamine, fast sugars, caffeine
  • How fully and how fast you absorb carbs, protein and fat
  • Your gut picture and the tolerance that follows from it
  • Skin reactions, where they trace back to food
  • What your sport and position ask of you
The variable layer — how you are today

From the six signals · changes daily

  • Where you are in the match rhythm: tomorrow, today, played yesterday
  • Your recovery right now
  • Your gut resilience this period
  • The environment: heat, altitude, a travel day, a time zone

A product label tells you what is in the package. These two layers tell you what it means for this athlete, today.

By using CosmoPulse, you get

Availability, day by day

More players fit, more often — readiness protected across congestion and travel.

Performance that fits

The right stimulus, for the right athlete, at the right moment.

Development that follows the athlete

Individual biology guiding the plan, from the academy up.

Injury-risk awareness

Recovery and gut resilience read before load, not after a setback.

One shared language

Staff, medical and player all read the same zones and the same words.

A layer, not a replacement

A decision layer on top of what you already run — not another system to replace it.

Choose your world

One engine. The right words for every sport.

Every physical movement or training goal can be analysed through three dominant biomotor abilities — strength, endurance and speed/coordination — the fundamental building blocks of every human performance. For more than twenty years, Petra has researched how genetics, micro-organisms, metabolism and environmental factors together determine how people respond to load, recover and develop. From that systems approach she developed the PULSE philosophy: a biological decision framework that translates complex data into understandable insights and targeted actions for athletes, coaches and multidisciplinary performance teams.

While PULSE 1 is fully dedicated to football, the complete PULSE trilogy is aimed at international elite sport. The principles behind PULSE are not tied to one sport, but support athletes, coaches and medical teams in understanding the unique biological response of every athlete, regardless of discipline.

Alongside her research work, Petra built international expertise in developing, formulating and manufacturing high-quality sports nutrition and nutraceuticals for elite sports brands worldwide. That experience connects fundamental science with the daily practice of training, recovery, nutrition and performance. For the PULSE library she works with leading performance experts from international elite sport — their day-to-day practical experience forms an essential part of the PULSE philosophy and helps bridge science, coaching and performance at the highest level.

Her greatest drive is a deep respect and lasting fascination for athletes: for their discipline, their perseverance and their continuous pursuit of getting the most out of their talent. With PULSE, Petra wants to contribute to a new generation of performance, in which science not only helps athletes perform better, but also protects talent, reduces injury, supports sustainable development and gives athletes the chance to build a longer, healthier and more successful career.

As Head of Performance, Ruben Peeters built an elite track record across three top European football leagues — KRC Genk, Feyenoord and Liverpool — winning the championship title at every single club he worked at. Ruben Peeters holds a master's degree in Training & Coaching (football) from KU Leuven, a foundation that shaped his scientific, structured approach to performance. He went on to build an elite track record as Head of Performance across three top European football leagues: four years at KRC Genk, three years at Feyenoord, and two years at Liverpool, winning the championship title at every single club he worked at. Throughout his career, his defining strength has been aligning the moving parts across the different departments around a team, turning daily collaboration into a team-wide commitment to making the right decisions and creating tailor-made solutions every day so players could perform in their best possible shape, a strength reflected in his reputation for consistently high player availability. That mindset, combined with a drive for innovative and out-of-the-box thinking, has been the engine behind every step of that success.

Working this closely with athletes taught him that every individual is precisely and uniquely "wired," which means tailor-made solutions are required on every level, so that in practice he is constantly working with a plan within a plan. In his experience, the biological layer of performance is still too often underrepresented, even though every person's internal processes are organized in a completely different way, making it a key factor in truly understanding and steering load monitoring across a squad. His interest in this biological layer of football began eight years ago, and he has since had the privilege of following its development up close, having experienced firsthand with his own players the real impact it can make.

Our co-authors bring their lived experience to the books. The PULSE science and its intellectual property belong to Cosmogroup.

How many players are fit to play, and how often. CosmoPulse adds: it reads adaptive capacity day to day, so availability is managed — not hoped for.

Squad availabilityavailability

Availability across the whole selection, not only the first XI.

Availability windowavailability

The period an athlete stays deployable. CosmoPulse helps protect and extend it.

Workload managementload

Steering how much load an athlete carries. CosmoPulse adds: the biological layer beneath the load.

Internal loadload

The body's response to training — heart rate, perceived exertion. CosmoPulse reads the metabolic and autonomic response underneath it.

External loadload

The work done — distance, sprints, watts. The starting point CosmoPulse connects to biology.

Acute:chronic workload ratioload

Recent load against the longer baseline. CosmoPulse explains why the same ratio lands differently for each athlete.

Load toleranceload

How much load a given athlete absorbs. Read from co-metabolism, not squad averages.

The CosmoPulse layer

Baseline (nulmeting)measurement

The one-off full analysis — DNA, microbiome, metabolome — that maps who an athlete is biologically. The validated starting point everything else reads against.

Perform · Compete · Growframe

The three levels at which CosmoPulse delivers, each paired with the outcome Cosmogroup names in Dutch: Perform is gerichte ontwikkeling, Compete is duurzame beschikbaarheid, Grow is beschermde waarde. One frame, two languages, the same promise.

Retestmeasurement

A second reading against an athlete's own baseline, once a season. DNA is not repeated — it does not change. What is read again is the layer that moves: microbiome and metabolome, and with them the growth in adaptive capacity.

Digital markersmeasurement

Images of stool and urine, taken morning, midday and evening across three consecutive days, read in place of a microbiome and urine analysis. The same read with lighter logistics — the route that lets an athlete start anywhere in the world.

Co-metabolismscience

The continuous interaction between the host and their micro-organisms — how you actually process what you eat, not just what you eat.

Adaptive capacityscience

How the same athlete responds differently under different conditions — an afternoon or evening match, travel, a mountain stage or a time-trial. What the tools help a staff read.

The six signalsread

Profile, Ω, CRAS, FLEX, RISE and BRI — six readable outputs that translate the whole architecture into one shared language for the staff.

Action zonesread

Every signal lands in one of three zones: PROTECT, ADAPT or START — always read left-to-right, red to green. The thresholds behind them stay ours.

Reliabilityread

How sure each signal's read is — shown per signal, so staff know how much weight to give it. It rises as more sources are connected. CosmoPulse does not predict; it reads what is there and says how certain that read is.

Briefing lineread

The one-line summary per athlete, e.g. Ω 62 · CRAS 78 · BRI 71 → ADAPT.

Torqueaction

The targeted action that fits this athlete under these conditions, now.

Pomodorowindow

The window in which a Torque lands — the moment that makes it work. No fixed duration; the day sets the window.

OSCARdecision

The decision architecture — Observe, Structure, Classify, Act, Refine. It reads and verbalises every layer, but never makes the call itself.

HostHeroathlete

The friendly guide in the athlete's pocket. Answers one product at a time in human language — the wingman, never the replacement for the dietitian.

Profile vs Pulse Typeread

Profile is the static biomotor signature — how this athlete is built to function, as the starting point. A Pulse Type is a separate, internal chronotype read. They are not the same thing.

CosmoPulse Insideintegration

The API-first way the decision layer plugs into a club's own platform — API, webhook or an embeddable insight card. The club keeps its own brand.
